A Few Ways To Improve The Yield Of Aluminum Extrusions

(1) Quality Inspection: Machine quality checks should be fast, accurate, and rigorous. 'Fast' means inspecting frequently and promptly; 'accurate' means being familiar with national standards, internal control standards, and the standards for different clients and surface treatments. If necessary, samples should be taken for surface treatment testing. Misjudgment or accepting items that exceed standards is absolutely not allowed. In situations where a determination cannot be made, it must be immediately reported to the relevant supervisor. 'Rigorous' means having a firm stance and strictly enforcing the system.

 

(2) Extrusion: You can't use the wrong mold or write the wrong tracking card. You need to actively perform quality self-checks, first inspections, and in-process inspections.

 

(3) Main Machine Operator: Actively cooperate with the team leader, verify each set of molds, control the three temperatures, and adjust the material flow flexibly based on different model structures and surface treatments. Always check the quality of the outgoing material, be responsible for wall thickness, forming, tear and drag issues, or internal drag, and accurately calculate whether the leftover material after cutting different sizes into semi-finished products is long enough.

 

(4) Interruption Worker: This is also a very important position. If a quality problem is found, report it to the team leader or acting team leader immediately. For each mold set during operation, check the height of the outlet lift frame, the graphite blocks, and the high-temperature roller, as they directly affect the forming quality. Promptly turn on the fan and check whether the conveyor belt is running smoothly and efficiently. If bubbles, oil bubbles, or tearing are found on the profile surface, mark them clearly to prevent them from flowing into the next process.

 

(5) Straightening Worker (Mixing Materials, Cutting to Size, Assembling Frames):

 

Before straightening each piece, check the surface quality thoroughly. Don't stack too many profiles on the cold bed to avoid scratches and dents. For hollow profiles, use appropriate end plugs to prevent excessive deformation at the ends. If there's an assembly relationship, follow the sample of the corresponding surface treatment model for this batch order to control the straightening stretch rate.

 

When bundling materials, note that materials with different surface treatments have different bundling methods. For billets, oxidized sandblasted materials, and "oxidized electrophoretic glossy materials," try to keep the non-decorative sides facing down or facing each other, maintaining gaps between profiles to avoid rubbing, bumping, scratching, or damaging the decorative surfaces.

 

Before cutting to size, consider whether the scrap at the head and tail is long enough. If an entire piece or batch isn't long enough, immediately inform the person in charge of stopping or starting the machine. After cutting, carefully check if the profile ends are deformed. If deformation occurs due to cutting, you can slightly reduce the cutting speed.

 

Before framing with insulation materials, every piece must pass the platform inspection. For profiles with complex shapes that are easily damaged by the separators after framing, place flat tubes between layers. For products with strict surface quality requirements, use high-temperature felt to separate each piece, and make sure the separators are placed neatly.
