How thin can CNC aluminum profiles be?

CNC machining is a technology that uses computer-controlled machine tools to perform precision machining. In the CNC machining process, the operation of the machine tool is controlled by a computer program, which enables the cutting, engraving, drilling, and milling of the material. Aluminum profile is one of the common materials for CNC machining, which refers to the use of aluminum alloy through hot extrusion or cold extrusion to form a material with complex cross-section. CNC machined aluminum profiles have been widely used in many industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronic equipment and medical equipment due to their high precision, high efficiency, flexibility, environmental protection and high material utilization.

The thickness that can be achieved with CNC aluminum profiles actually depends on a number of factors, including the required strength, the application scenario, and the limitations of processing technology. In theory, CNC machining technology can achieve very thin aluminum profile processing, but in practice there will be some limitations. For example, when machining thin-walled aluminum profiles, their structural strength and stability need to be considered to avoid deformation or damage during processing or use.

For thin-walled CNC machined parts, if its thin-walled depth is more than five millimeters, thin-walled length is more than ten millimeters, and there are no stiffeners at these ten millimeters, then the thickness of the thin-walled parts should be better designed at more than 0.9 millimeters. If the depth of the thin wall is more than 10 mm, the length of the thin wall is about 50 mm, and there is no stiffener in this 50 mm area, then the design thickness of the thin wall is better than 1.1~1.2 mm. Such a design can ensure that the deformation of the product is controlled within a small range.

It should also be noted that although CNC machining technology can achieve precision machining, there may be some challenges when machining ultra-thin aluminum profiles, such as tool wear, machining accuracy control, etc. Therefore, when choosing to process ultra-thin aluminum profiles, it is necessary to comprehensively consider multiple factors such as processing technology, material properties and application scenarios.

The thickness of CNC aluminum profiles can be customized according to specific needs, but it needs to be designed and processed under the premise of ensuring structural strength and stability.
