1. When extruding industrial aluminum profiles, if the temperature is too low or the extrusion speed is too slow, the temperature of the profile at the extruder outlet may not reach the solution treatment temperature, preventing the solution strengthening effect.
Solution: Properly control the extrusion temperature and speed to ensure that the profile temperature at the extruder outlet remains above the minimum solution treatment temperature.
2. If there are too few fans at the industrial aluminum profile outlet and insufficient airflow, it leads to slow cooling, preventing the profiles from dropping below 200°C in the shortest time. This causes coarse magnesium silicide to precipitate prematurely, reducing the solution phase and affecting the mechanical properties after heat treatment.
Solution: Strengthen air cooling conditions; factories with suitable conditions can install atomized cooling devices to meet the minimum cooling gradient requirements for 6063 alloy.
3. If the ingot composition is unqualified, the magnesium and silicon content in the ingot does not meet the standard requirements.
Solution: Strengthen quality management of ingots.
4. If the ingots are not homogenized, the precipitated magnesium silicide phase in the ingot structure cannot re-dissolve in the short time during extrusion, leading to insufficient solution treatment and affecting product performance.
Solution: Perform homogenization treatment on the ingots.
5. Improper aging process, poor hot air circulation, or incorrect thermocouple installation can lead to insufficient or over-aging.
Solution: Properly determine the aging process, correctly install thermocouples, and correctly position the industrial aluminum profiles to ensure smooth hot air circulation.
